All Japan Kimono Consultant Association – Kanto Convention | Event Recording & Still Photography in Japan

Hello, this is Nagasaka from PalmTrees.

Today, I would like to share a behind‑the‑scenes look at the event recording and still photography we handled for the Kanto Convention of the All Japan Kimono Consultant Association.

We began with the event recording (video).
Our main setup consisted of two center cameras—a close‑up and a wide shot.

We also placed a wide‑angle camera on stage‑right, making it a three‑camera setup for both filming and editing.

You may notice an action camera (Insta360 AcePro) mounted above the main camera.
This was used for test recording.
Although we did not use the footage in the final edit (as we had FX30 footage),
the image quality was more than sufficient, especially for situations where the number of cameras is limited.
I plan to incorporate it more actively in future projects.

We also set up a simple studio space to photograph kimono portraits. (We additionally handled still photography for the event itself.)
Note: The actual lighting setup differs from the image above.

Because the venue was large, we used a telephoto lens (150–600mm) mounted on a tripod for still photography.
Handheld shooting is possible, but for this type of work—especially with super‑telephoto lenses—the difference with and without a tripod is significant.

Recently, we have been receiving more requests for one‑stop support covering both video and still photography,
and we are truly grateful for that.

If you are looking for a team for event recording or video production, please feel free to contact us.
